Myopia Control

Myopia Control

One of the rising epidemics in the eye care world is the increase in myopia, also known as near-sightedness.

Due to the advancements in technology as well as academics, people are spending more time working on near tasks. The reason why this is important is because this plays a role in the development of myopia in children. Studies report that by the year 2050, ⅓ of the population in the United States will near-sighted. People who have large amounts of near-sightedness are at higher risk for developing conditions such as retinal detachments and glaucoma.

However, there are ways to help slow down the progression of myopia in children to help reduce the risks of developing those conditions later in life. At Mint Vision, we use the most up to date techniques in the field of myopia management to help with reducing its progression in patients.

Some of the techniques we specialize in are the following:

Progressive and bi-focal lenses in glasses

MiSIght Daily soft contact lenses by Cooper Vision

Multi-focal soft contact lenses

Ortho-Keratology Lenses
